Bringing the Music Back to Miss Helen 7/7/12
As I put the earbuds
gently in place
the flaccid spirit surges …
first in surprise,
then in delight.
Hearing the music,
nothing could stop the dance.
From chair to chair
we clasp hands and move
as we always did …
two as one … one to the beat.
Others watch, even applaud …
They enjoy the spectacle as
we dance and dance and dance
until time runs out and I promise
to be back for more … soon.
