Mental Awareness Month Day 4: Sleep hygiene

Sound and restful sleep is imperative for physical and mental health. Not everyone needs 8 straight hours, but everyone needs restorative sleep. For sleep hygiene, consistency is key. Try going to bed around the same time and awaken around the same time. Try to avoid having electronics in the bedroom, as well as avoiding caffeine for at least 8 hours before bed. Here’s our tips for today. 

Arwen Podesta, MD suggests keeping a notepad next to your bed if you have thoughts that keep you awake, as well as various supplements to help with your sleep.
