Thursday, September 20/NOVAC (532 Louisa Street): Join entertainment copyright experts Bri Whetstone and Max Hass as they present an info-packed seminar on copyright in filmmaking. They’ve crafted a curriculum curated to filmmakers that covers the essentials of film copyright and contract law in film. Come learn how you can navigate these processes and ask your questions directly of two legal experts.

Thursday, September 20-Sunday, September 23/Prytania Theater (5339 Prytania Street): It’s scream time. Gore time. Time to hold hands at the theater. Okay, what it really is, is, the New Orleans Horror Film Festival. This year’s official selections include sixty films and twenty screenplay finalists, chosen from 590 national and international submissions through FilmFreeway, Withoutabox, and Festhome. The NOLA Horror Film Fest is a festival created by horror filmmakers for horror fans. From the low budget to the high adrenaline, their goal at that NOLAHFF  is the promotion of genre filmmaking in Louisiana, as well as nationally and internationally. The NOLAHFF is committed to celebrating the craft and advancing the art form of genre films. It all starts on Thursday at 6:15 PM, tickets will cost you $14/Thursday pass, and you can purchase them here

Saturday, September 22/City Park Festival Grounds: It’s time to help animals and drink while you do it. In other words, Nola on Tap is back. Come on out to City Park to enjoy the biggest beer fest around to help support or LA/SPCA. They will be serving margaritas and tacos with all profits going to our LA/SPCA. Tickets range from $5-$30, and you can find out more here

Saturday, September 22/The Historic New Orleans Collection (533 Royal Street): On Saturday, September 22The Historic New Orleans Collection will be among 25 Louisiana museums participating in Smithsonian magazine’s Museum Day Live! 2018, offering free admission to anyone who downloads an online ticket.As a Museum Day Live! 2018 participant, THNOC will offer ticket holders free guided tours of the Williams Residence Tour or Louisiana History Galleries or the Architecture and Courtyards Tour. Fill out the simple online form to download your official Museum Day Live! 2018 ticket at www.smithsonian.com/museumday. One ticket provides museum access for two people to one participating institution (only one admission card is permitted per household). Only an official Museum Day ticket is eligible for free entry, and attendees must present the ticket upon arrival to gain free entry. Go get that free knowledge!

Tuesday, September 25/Glitter Box (1109 Royal Street): You ready for some tarot? If not, you will be by Tuesday night.  On this luminous full moon, which is a perfect time to cultivate our intuitive abilities, Krystal of Power Femme Tarot will show you that you already possess the most important thing you need to read the mysterious 78 cards: your inner wisdom. Glitter Box is hosting an interactive two-hour workshop; they will first cover the “tarot 101” fundamentals and then dive right into learning how to read tarot intuitively. Together, you’ll practice several intuitive exercises designed to activate intuitions and develop your own personal interpretations of the cards.
