Wednesday, December 20/3101 Conti Street: It’s that time again. The local shops open their doors for crafts galore. Ceramist Miki Glasser will be having an Open Studio Sale, which means you can have some boozy hot chocolate, check out the new art space, and buy gifts from four local artists (Sarah House, Miki Glasser, Hayden Reilly and Scott Jarrett). Available items will range from succulent planters and pipes to nesting fractal serving dish sets and jewelry. It all begins at 6:00 PM, and you can find out full details here.

Thursday, December 21/Antenna (3718 St. Claude): The Waves Reading Series for LGBTIQA+ voices returns after a long absence to present Andrea Abi-Karam, Alyn Mare, Chanel Clarke, and Chasity Hunter. From a punk poet cyborg to Alyn Mare, who writes from the Sonoran desert, against the border and for the club, all of the readings are original works. Readings will begin at 7:00 PM and will go until 10:00 PM. You can find full details here.

Friday, December 22/Marquette Theater (6363 St. Charles Ave): Is it the final week to travel through time and location to Pemberly and rejoin some of your favorite characters from Pride and Prejudice. There’s a love story, there are shelves of books, there is playing on a piano forte, and there are accents. The last run of “Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley” will be through December 23, and you can get your information and tickets here.

Saturday, December 23/Axiom Fine Art Gallery (4613 Freret Street): Pass the Mic is having their homecoming edition at the weekend rolls in. This includes a block party with DJ Chris Stylez spinning while the poets take to the mic. What are they celebrating? The beauty of words, of course, and also Pass the Mic’s 9th birthday! Happy birthday to you, wonderful organization! The event begins at 8:00 PM, and you can find out full details here.
