Lyriqs de Lyraciss: Hip-hop emcee is making a name in New Orleans
On Saturday, New Orleans hip-hop emcee Lyriqs da Lyraciss
released his second single, “Underdogcentral,” from his debut album, “The Nobody’s Monologues 2.”
Although Lyriqs has been performing in New Orleans since 2009, his sound is heavily influenced by not only Southern rap, but also by the work of recording artists like Charles Hamilton and Lupe Fiasco.
Look for Lyriqs at hip-hop battles around town. Next up is a show on April 19 at Maison, 508 Frenchman Street, at 9 p.m. ($10 cover). Follow his twitter: @underdogcentral
