Singing along with the evangelists
On the big screen in the day room.
Helen’s eyes are closed
She feels the meaning
She smiles at me
She sings and nods …
Nods in approval.
Saving the best for last
With what’s left of her mind
She sweeps me into the flow
Proclaiming the good news:
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me.
