I didn’t have to try; I didn’t have to think;
I didn’t have to do a thing …
Except pay attention, follow your lead, and be astonished.
With each part of your body
embodying a different aspect of the rhythm
you exposed the very heart of jazz.
And once again,
I got it,
you knew it …
and you smiled.
