Back in February 2015, the New Orleans library celebrated the one-year anniversary of the Turn The Page campaign, which has a goal to make New Orleans the most literate city in America by its 300th birthday in 2018. BYO was part of this celebration held at the library’s main branch, along with Irvin Mayfield, Leah Chase, 2-cent, and others that were there to promote reading to an audience of elementary school students. Sophie Lucido Johnson told this story to the kid crowd about her own love affair with libraries.
