Wednesday, July 18/Crescent Park (Mandeville Wharf): If you haven’t bent and stretched outside with a group of people yet then you’re just not paying attention because there is free community yoga everywhere. Okay, not everywhere, but it will be at Crescent Park on Wednesday. This is part of the “Mash-Up” yoga series, which means there is a yoga meet-up every month. For July 18, the sweating starts at 6:00 PM and goes until 7:00 PM. It’s free, open to the public, and if you want to see more details, check out their event here

Thursday, July 19/Propeller (4035 Washington Avenue): It’s time to talk business. Literally. Propeller is hosting “Office Hours,” which is a free 20-minute one-on-one consultations where businesses can receive advice from local experts. All those burning questions you’ve been wanting to ask about taxes, or staplers, or everything in between can finally be discussed, and it will all happen at 8:30 AM! That’s right, early birds get the advice on how to get the worm. For full details on this event, check out their event page here

Friday, July 20/Bjs Bywater (4301 Burgundy): Happy Birthday to who? Happy Birthday to who? To Little Freddie King. If you have not been to his birthday bash then you better head to Bjs this year to celebrate his spirit, his music, his presence, and whatever else he wants to celebrate because he’s Little Freddie King! He’ll be 78 years young this year, and like the years before there will be cake. The party starts at 10:00 PM and goes until it goes. For full details, check out the event here

Friday, July 20/Nola Spaces (1719 Toledano Street): Once in a lifetime chances pretend to be so unique, but they pretty much happen every night when there’s improv. And (!) on Saturday you will have a once-in-a-lifetime-chance to see a three-troupe showcase featuring between 6 to 20 performers who present a variety of improvisational comedy. That’s no laughing matter! Actually, we really hope it is. The comedy starts at 7:30 PM, the admission is $7, and you can find out full details here

Sunday, July 22/Dancing Grounds (3705 St. Claude Ave.): If you are looking to be on pins and needles on Sunday then head down to Dancing Grounds. While we’d usually be referencing some of their fantastic classes that will have you sweating and tingling, this is something different. It’s acupuncture. Wait…it gets better. It’s community acupuncture. Although our brows furrowed when we first read about this, the description of “Customized, affordable acupuncture treatments in a group setting,” really won us over. How affordable? There’s a sliding scale from $20-$40, and DG Members get one session for free. The acupuncture starts at 1:30 PM, and you can find out full details here
