The lineup at the 19th annual New Orleans French Film Festival is truly formidable, with a slate including some of the best in contemporary and classic French cinema.
Things begin tonight with a screening of My Golden Days (Trois souvenirs de ma jeunesse) from celebrated director Arnaud Desplechin, which will screen at the Orpheum Theater with an after-party at Moxy New Orleans.
Director Jean-Charles Hue will be in attendance to present his film Eat Your Bones (Mange tes morts) about the Romany community of northern France, to be followed by a master class presented at the Alliance Française.
Women in Film & TV Louisiana is proud to be a Community Partner for a presentation of The Innocents (Les Innocents), a feature film set in Warsaw, December 1945. WWII is finally over and Mathilde is treating the last of the French survivors of the German Camps. Director Anne Fontaine, DP Caroline Champetier ED: Annette Dutertre. Friday 7/8 @ 7:30pm & Monday 7/11 @ Noon at both Prytania Theatre.

The newly restored Senegalese film Black Girl (La Noire de…) from “father of African cinema” Ousmane Sembène.
And new work featuring Juliette Binoche, Guillaume Depardieu, and Isabelle Huppert.
