If there is ever an ideal time to sit down for afternoon tea, it’s the holidays.
Although Louisiana is not a state steeped in British culture and tradition, a pair of Covington residents run a tea room that offers visitors an English tea experience. Hosting guests from all over the world, the English Tea Room boasts 150 global loose leaf teas, as well as imported foods and gifts to compliment the brews, all set within a quaint repurposed Southern home.
Jeanne Bankston, a film student in the Department of Film and Theatre at the University of New Orleans, spoke with English Tea Room owner Jan Lantrip about the tea room.
