The Civic Theatre opened its fall concert series this past Saturday with a newly renovated sound system and a home coming show of sorts for Greg Dulli and his rock band The Afghan Whigs, a group that hasn’t played New Orleans since a 2012 set at Tipitina’s. The band’s current tour showcased songs from their latest album, Do to the Beast, an amazing follow-up to their 1998 album, 1965. The set, though mostly comprised of songs from Do to the Beast, was also peppered with great cuts from earlier albums Gentleman, 1965, Black Love, and Up in It.
