FRIDAY / Kick, push: The May Gallery is having a party to launch their Kickstarter campaign this Friday to raise money for new programming and architectural features. The gallery is dynamic, even by New Orleans standards, by hosting international artists-in-residence, functioning as a studio for dozens of artists, and having a truly architecturally unique space. FRIDAY / La lumiere Louisiane : The Ogden Museum of Southern Art is hosting a launch party for the publication of A Unique Slant of Light: The Bicentennial History of Art in Louisiana. The book features over 400 images from both private collections and the state’s major museums, as well as the words of dozens of notable scholars.
