We got your weekend: Beer Fests, Burlesque, Theater, Pride

SATURDAY / Booze and boobs: Join the Contemporary Arts Center this weekend for Bourbon and Burlesque. The CAC is known for throwing some impressive fundraisers, including the August tradition White Linen Night. Featuring creative cocktails and cuisine, the night will also have raffles and the best burlesque that New Orleans has to offer.

logo-wyes-beerFRIDAY-SATURDAY / Brewskis: WYES is throwing not one but two beer samplings this weekend. Friday is a VIP sampling of 75 rare craft beers, including cask, local, and home brews. Saturday’s event features food trucks and over 275 different beers. With the venue of Mardi Gras world, you can even pretend it’s Carnival season.

FRIDAY-SUNDAY / Hell fire: Hearken back to the Civil War days with “Hell’s Belles,” a Midcity Theater production about a finishing school that has seen better days, a Union soldier, and a group of Southern women at their sassiest. This Southern Gothic comedy runs Friday through Sunday.

WEDNESDAY-MONDAY / Wave your flag: As much fun as Southern Decadence is, sometimes pride can be more that G strings. Louisiana’s Premiere Pride Festival is celebrating its fifth anniversary this week. This week-long celebration features picnics, workshops, inspirational programming, and a kiss-off for equality.
