UNO documentary: New Orleans program targets HIV prevention in teens

In “Advocates for Health,” this week’s featured short documentary, UNO film student Victoria Chester interviews Iman Shervington of the Institute of Women and Ethnic Studies, an organization dedicated to improving the physical, mental, and spiritual health and quality of life for women of color and their families.

In particular, she talks about Media Advocates for Prevention, a youth development program directed at local teens aimed at promoting HIV risk reduction and testing.

The Film and Theatre Department of UNO and NolaVie present this weekly series of short films produced by the students in Laszlo Fulop’s documentary class. Read Renee Peck’s column about the program here.
