Throwback Thursday: NOPD ‘wobbling’ during Mardi Gras

Editor’s note: As Mardi Gras festivities launch full force, we look back at one of the most memorable, characteristically eccentric New Orleans moments from Carnival 2014.

Last year, over Mardi Gras, NOPD detective Winston Harbin demonstrated that Carnival is a New Orleans cultural force that truly binds seemingly disconnected folks together in mutual celebration. Along the parade route Harbin (front left) broke in to “The Wobble” (a line dance rapper V.I.C.’s sensationalized in his music video for “Wobble”) with other Mardi go-ers.
