Photos: Krewe du Vieux and krewedelusion roll amidst thunderstorm warnings

Editor’s Note: To get us in the mood for Mardi Gras (who are we kidding, we’re all in the mood for Mardi Gras already), we are diving into the sugary, sensual, and silly side that makes this the most wonderful time of the year! This entire month we will be celebrating the food, the culture, the music, and the traditions of Mardi Gras for our “Craving some Carnival” series.

Since it’s Thursday, we are throwing it back to 2018! Krewe du Vieux 2018 and krewedelusion parades avoided the forecasted thunderstorms, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t cause a storm on the streets of New Orleans. “Bienville’s Wet Dream,” was the year’s theme, didn’t come to pass in the literal sense, so the parades rolled on a Saturday night and brought with them their infamous lewd behavior.
