Photos: Krewe of Joan of Arc Parade 2022

The Krewe de Jeanne d’Arc held their annual parade Thursday, January 6, Twelfth Night, to kick off the 2022 Mardi Gras season.  Joan of Arc is the unofficial patron saint of New Orleans, and the parade depicts the short life of the 15th century teenage French military hero.

Mardi Gras 2021 was all but canceled in New Orleans due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so the “Be Gone Foul Plague” sign that led the procession represents the collective feelings of the community.
