While Sitting beside Bayou Saint John

 
A conjunction of events creates a scene…
A scene of surpassing beauty
    light, water, 
    shadow, branch, 
    root, leaf,
    rock, soil 
 
Configured by chance
Composed of struggle
Bound by gravity
And of no consequence 
 
Until caught by the eye
Made meaningful by the mind
And, celebrated by the soul
