The bulls are running this weekend. Apparently, the goats should have been running too (vegetarians need not read on). This Friday, Slow Food NOLA cohosts a “Slow Goat” dinner, their first first Slow Food NOLApertivo, with St. James Cheese Company and Cleaver & Co., at St. James (5004 Prytania Street). The event will feature $5 small plates, beer, wine, and sangria; all proceeds will benefit Slow Flood NOLA.
For carnivores extraordinaire, Cleaver & Co. will hold a special pre-event, a goat butchering demo at their shop (3917 Baronne Street), on Thursday. At the event, you will learn how to both use and deconstruct specific cuts of goat. All attendees will receive a 10% discount on unused goat cuts and a $5 voucher for the Slow Goat dinner the following night. Tickets are $35 each.
Doesn’t sound all that baaa’d (baaa’d joke).
