Healthcare leaders partner with New Orleans entrepreneurs

Isabel Healthcare, an industry leader in diagnosis decision support applications with thousands of users throughout North America and Europe, has partnered with New Orleans-based entrepreneurs VoiceHIT for a collaboration the two companies believe will redefine healthcare.

The veteran healthcare company’s main system, Isabel, has been in use for more than a decade, and is designed to provide essential diagnosis and treatment information at the point of need. When provided with a specified set of symptoms, Isabel presents the healthcare professional with a list of potential diagnoses to consider, linked with evidence-based literature and medical expertise to help further identify the condition, as well as possible testing and treatment options.

The system will be integrated with VoiceHIT’s innovative platform Better Day™ EHR, which combines speech-to-text processing with mobile devices and web-based technologies to streamline clinical documentation and make patient encounters more efficient. By making all of the key clinical data needed for the healthcare providers easily available with predictive modeling, the third party platform will allow more accurate diagnoses at the point of care, increase healthcare efficiency and future diagnoses, reduce physician practice costs and decrease potential discrepancies within the healthcare system.

“The Better Day™ platform streamlines documentation and eliminates the computer as a barrier

between patients and providers, which represents improvement for both healthcare providers and their patients’ health,” said Peter Ragusa, MD, MPH and chief executive officer for VoiceHIT.

“Working with innovative partners like Isabel Healthcare, we are redefining the EHR model and, in doing so, we are offering a new vision to the healthcare community, one that nearly eliminates time spent documenting and coding encounters and allows for significantly more quality time with patients. More importantly than reducing costs and improving efficiency, this shift will yield better care.”
