A pop-up art event on St. Claude with NolaVie

“James,” by Jason Kruppa, is among photographs that will be on view at the NolaVie PopUp Art Event at The Healing Center on Oct. 8.

Do you love the idea of discovering interesting work by new artists in one of the edgier art spaces in town?

Want to get a one-night sneak preview of what one artist is doing for Prospect 2?

Care to check out the Crescent City’s newest happening space?

Then head over to NolaVie’s first pop-up of the art season at The Healing Center on St. Claude Avenue on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Highlights include a preview component of pioneering new media artist Dawn Dedeaux’s upcoming Prospect 2 installation, paintings by New Orleans artist Caskey Miller and photographs by fashion and portrait photojournalist Jason Kruppa. Stop by for a drink and refreshments; contribute your part to an instant community art statement; meet NolaVie’s writers and editors as well as some of the city’s most dynamic young artists; be a part of New Orleans’ alternate art scene.

And, of course, you can see all the latest additions to the New Orleans Healing Center, a community center like no other in the city. The space holds businesses, services and programs that promote physical, nutritional, emotional, intellectual, environmental and spiritual well-being.

The NolaVie Art PopUp is being held in conjunction with the St. Claude Gallery art openings that same evening (a week after this Saturday’s Art for Arts Sake). If you rarely venture beyond Canal Street, it’s a great chance to check out one of the city’s most interesting neighborhoods.

It’s funky; it’s fun; it’s free! But it’s one night only. So be there or be … well, you know!
