Wednesday, October 25/The Historic New Orleans Collection (533 Royal Street): Just in time for Halloween, The Historic New Orleans Collection is offering visitors a glimpse into the city’s ghastly past with special guided tours of its Louisiana History Galleries. At 11:00 AM on Tuesday–Sunday, Oct. 24–31, 2017, THNOC is offering “La Danse Macabre: The Nightmare of History.” This fascinating one-hour, fact-based tour will explore of the city’s more gruesome historical records, many of which went on to fuel local lore. Due to the nature of the content, this tour is not recommended for audiences under 13. Admission is $5 or free for THNOC members. For more details, check it out here.

Thursday, October 26/Gallery 2 (831 Royal Street): It is never too early to be thinking about beads, feathers, and costumes. Although, let’s be honest, we are always thinking about those items in New Orleans! On Thursday, Big Cheif Demond Melancon of the Young Seminole Hunters will be the special guest at their opening reception, which begins at 6:00 PM. The opening reception will kick off the exhibit that will focus on traditional wearable components and contemporary beadwork in the Mardi Gras Indians costumes. For more information about this event, check out Gallery 2’s website.

Saturday, October 28/Leroy Miranda Art (2424 Burgundy): There are few things that pair better together than amazing art and beer. That’s why Leroy Miranda Jr. is putting them together in order to exhibit his work! The open studio visit will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday and end at 5:00 PM on Sunday. In other words, we are intrigued! You can check it out for yourself, here.

Monday, October 30/One Eyed Jacks (615 Toulouse): It’s Bounce night, and for this special night, and when it comes to DJs, there is not one…not two…not three…actually, we are just going to tell you the line up. Here it is: Rusty Lazer, Sissy Nobby, Hasizzle, BJ So Cole, and DJ Q. You can bounce from one to the next, and we–of course–mean that beautiful backend! The evening begins at 8:00 PM, tickets are $15 (can be purchased here), and check out the event page for more information.

Tuesday, October 31/Morning Call in the Oaks (City Park): It’s that time of year again and if you don’t know how Jai Bhakti Yoga feels about Halloween and the Nightmare Before Christmas, then you are about to. They love them both! That why they will be having their second annual Nightmare Before Christmas + Halloween + Yoga class party! Oh, and it’s free! We know, it’s spooky but true! It all begins at 6:00 PM, and you can find out full details here.
