Collaboration and progress

Service learning with the Digital Media Club at Clark HS is going really well. We are in the middle of filming a short high school romance piece and it is really starting to come together. We’ve got a great team of students who are always thinking on their feet, making the film that much better. We have run into a big time constraint because the kids now have to leave about an hour early than normal but the kids have responded really well. They know what we need to do and consistently deliver. The students/actors have really pulled through, especially this past week when we filmed a few scenes that were very line heavy.

My favorite part of the process has been the writing of the script. It was great getting to bounce ideas off one another and watch as everyone lit up with passion for our film. We should be able to finish filming at the next session and then we can begin the editing. I’m a little nervous about the amount of time we have left but I know we can pump it out in this last month of school. I really love going to Clark every week and I can’t wait to see the result!
